I think it may be possible to wriggle out of if very determined but that has never happened and that would depend on your whippet and unsupervised circumstances.

But the lead ring seems a very long way back and now the harness hole in his coat is in the wrong place. Maybe just that it fastens further back to avoid the leg rubbing, but there does seem to be an area on the harness above the shoulders where the ring could go?

A very good quality harness, and I’m happy to have the reassurance this is the proper fit for a whippet around the chest. We have bought this primarily for car travel, but are also experimenting with walks to see if it helps with pulling. I wish the fleecy padding went a little further back at the top as it’s taking a bit of time for our dog to be comfy with it (lots of scratching). The length adjusters seem to sit just where the elbow comes back – but I haven’t noticed any problems or rubbing there so far.

Finally I thought I’d found the perfect harness and was very disappointed when it didn’t fit despite measuring several times and contacting the company to make sure of the sizing. It fits perfectly around her waist although it won’t go over her waterproof coat. The problem is that the other straps are very loose as they are too long. It’s a shame that they aren’t adjustable. Bought this for our greyhound, and we’re very happy (hound including). He is chest size 32.5 inch. Largest size harness fits well, but the chest straps are pretty much at maximum extension, so if your dog is any bigger it’s going to get tight. Largest size would not have fitted round the chest of our previous greyhound, he was a 34 inch.

First of all I’d like to thank the team for their help in recommending the right size for my tiny Podenco. It’s a fantastic fit and he finds it extremely comfortable despite his unusual proportions. Unfortunately, he had been wearing it over a t-shirt as it was cold and I took the T-shirt off to wash it and left him alone in the harness for a few minutes. As it was a bit looser he was able to get his teeth down the front and he chewed through the webbing extremely quickly. My fault entirely but worth noting that the webbing isn’t chew proof like some.

If our whippet doesn’t want to go for a walk, she will pull back to try and get out of her collar. She has a wide whippet leather collar, so I make sure it is tight enough to stop her being able to do this. Obviously I don’t really like having to do this, as I don’t want her to hurt her throat, so bought this harness as an alternative to the collar. It is a well made and very comfortable harness, but sadly my dog was able to pull back and escape from it, so sadly it didn’t fulfill the purpose I bought it for.

My elderly whippet is much larger than your average whippy and has a lot of bumps and bulges. I was struggling to find him a comfy harness that he could not get out of. This one is great. It is super soft and although the extra large has a bit of space he still can’t wriggle out. It is also easy to get on and off.

Would be great if the option of a 2nd strap was available for further along the body & an additional adjustment strap to perhaps lengthen the strap underneath.

Love the harness very soft by t secure and easy to fasten with the clips. Love the Y shape at the front really suits the barrel chest
